An astonishing 63% of American households own at least one pet. Not surprisingly, Americans will spent over 40 billion dollars on pet products in 2007. Has it always been this way? How have demographic, cultural, and technological changes affected the way people own, view, and treat their pets? Find out in this fascinating exhibition at the Stamford Museum & Nature Center organized by McKissick Museum at the University of North Carolina and based on the research of Professor Catherine C. Grier of Winterthur Museum and the University of Delaware.
