Knowing Market was started by the owners of Match, I had high expectations. Market did not disappoint. The food was excellent. The menu was smaller a little funkier than Match, but we all tried different items, and all were great! Service was a little on the slow side for the price, but at least we weren’t rushed in and out. Drink menu was inventive and the design of the place is great.

Save your money.
I ate at Market Restaurant last night in Stamford, CT and was expecting a nice meal with good atmosphere and ended up being quite disappointed. The presentation was okay and the staff was cordial, but neither were overwhelming considering the cost of the dinner.
I went with my boyfriend who ordered the Rock Shrimp, which was the best part of the night as the appetizer was unique, tasty and presented well. I ordered the meatballs, which were cold on the inside with hot sauce on top.
Then came the entrees. My boyfriend ordered the steak, which was cooked well, but the Au Gratin potatoes were super salty and overpowered by smokey bacon and the spinach was quite salty as well.
I ordered the Monk Fish, which is what really prompted me to write this review. The Monk Fish was the worst dish I have ever (yes, ever) had. To compare, a salad at Lucky’s was like a five star dinner compared to the dinner at Market
I never waste food and always take my leftovers home and this was the one time that I had to decline. I even tried to get my boyfriend to eat the dinner, but he took one bite and nearly spit it out.
I suggest you save your money and pass this place up as the bill far exceeded the experience and there are a lot of other great places in Stamford to enjoy a night out.

I ate at Market last night and the food was amazing-It has such a unique taste that i can not explain-steak was very good-donuts were 2 die for-the service was good-the whole atmosphere was nice- It also doesnt hurt when having dinner and music ICON Clive Davis is seated right next to me-
can’t rate this place because we never sat down. had a 8:30 reservation, walked in @ 8:30 and was told we don’t have a table available yet.i had asked for 8:00 and was told 8:30 would be better . after 30 mins. and seeing there were at least 6 couples waiting ahead of us we went to columbus park which was excellent. we might give it another try but not real soon.
