I had read reviews on other sites about a waiter who acts all too familiar and makes jokes. We had him this week, and he was annoying, rude, juvenile and made my party entirely uncomfortable. The caesar salad was excellent and I could forgive the entree that was not to my taste because I took a chance, but none of us would ever dine there again for fear of having this waiter.

Four of us went to Aria last Thursday, June 4 for the advertised lunch express. Two of our party had been to Aria previously for dinner and said the food and service were quite good. We were given the lunch menu and when I requested the lunch express menu, I was told by our waiter that they didn’t have any such thing. After pointing out that it was advertised in the Stamford Advocate, he left the table and returned 10 minutes later to recite the lunch express menu to us. I expect lunch portions, especially lunch express portions, to be smaller, but this was an insult. Especially as there were people at another table, who obviously had not been told that there was a lunch express menu, who had salads that were easily three times the size of ours. And I don’t believe 4 ravioli can be considered an entree under any circumstances. To add insult to injury, the waiter was just short of being rude, and we felt like unwelcomed guest. If you don’t want to have a lunch express menu, don’t advertise it just as a way to get people to come into the restaurant because after that experience, I would never return

ARIA is like no other place in Stamford. The food is amazing, the restaurant is beautiful with ambiance and an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. If you like wine… the selection is outstanding.
I have been to ARIA quite a few times now and can honestly say that, you cannot go wrong with anything you order. I’ve lived in Stamford for 8 years now and thank goodness there is finally a place that I Love!

Outstanding food, excellent service, warm and friendly hosts. Probably the best restaurant in Stamford. We go there often. A little expensive but worth the price.

We had high hopes for Aria as we had heard that it was a restaurant with a lovely atmoshphere and authentic Italian cuisine. Our hopes were dashed upon arrival as the single room establishment was host to an office party which was partitioned off from the few remaining tables with a mere sheet. The noise level was exceptionally high as a microphone was in use by the party members. Despite the fact that we had made a reservation, our table was not ready upon arrival, which in the end proved to be a positive as we were able to accurately assess the situation for 15 minutes before deciding to leave. We found the owner devoid of empathy in regard to our concerns about the noise level and proximity of the party to other patrons. He was, in fact, hostile and quite rude. I will never return.

Food was great. Would never dine there again. Four women, one who was my 79 year old mother , were treated like second class citizens. 20 min to take our drink order while restaurant was relatively slow. That was only the beginning but instead of using my energy to detail the attitudinal service…I’ll use my energy to select another restaurant that welcomes women who don’t happen to have a male escort on ladies night out.

Beautiful restaurant, terrible service, rude waiter. Not enough wait staff and parking facility is extremely small. It should be valet service. There were 2 waiters and 2 bus boys for a restaurant that holds 45 people.
