I moved from Boston recently and would consider myself a bit of a food snob. I don’t visit many restaurants in Stamford but when I’m looking for a nice evening out or if a friend comes to visit, I always head to Madonia for the lasagna. I am aware the rest of the menu is great, I just know exactly the way the lasagna will taste and I am never let down. Often when my daughter has a sleepover, I can be found at the bar waiting for my take-out container of the best lasagna around. Try it then post a review. You will not be disappointed.

i’m not sure where to begin. the manager (or maitre d) is rude and just not friendly in any way. the whole restaurant gives off a vibe as if they’re doing YOU a favor and you should be grateful to them. it’s not comfortable or inviting at all.

we called to make a reservation first and the person who answered the phone was awful and acted like i was really interupting him from doing something. when we got there, no one was around to greet us. there were only 2 other tables eating, yet it still took us 30 mins to get our appetizers (calamari and stuffed mushrooms) and what seemed like an eternity to get our main courses. they weren’t busy at all, so i can’t understand the delay.

it’s over priced and the food is crap. plates are so hot they’re still burning when you’re done eating – from being in the food service industry this means one thing – the plate has been sitting under the heater for a long time. either that, or they just took it out of the MICROWAVE? also – note to the chef – when you put whipped cream on a scorching hot plate, it melts and turns into liquid that the cake is floating in. when i mentioned this to them (mentioned, not complained) nothing was done.

save your money and go somewhere where you’re not treated like a burden when you walk in.

I really dont know what all of you are talking about. This place is pedestrian, at best. Not worth the money or the drive. Stay downtown.
Medicore calamari, sorry seafood entree and poor service.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this restaurant and the bar has a fun & friendly atmosphere. The chef is world-class fabulous. The whole staff is very accommodating and the owner is one of the nicest guys around. This is a hidden treasure that must be shared!

I went last night for their tasting menu. It was 3 nice sized portions. First I had stuffed calamari then orechiette pasta with veal ragu and finally lamb stew. Everything was very tasty and for $25 you can’t go wrong.

What a great restaurant. We traveled 30 min to get there and it was the best experience we’d in a very long time.The paella was so good!!!

Maybe I caught it on a bad night, but this place was bad. Poor service, undercooked beef, cold apps and pricey. I dont think I will go back

So impressed with this restaurant. I had an amazing dinner…sea bass with mango salsa and tiramisu. Can’t wait to go back!
