Ate there on Sunday, January 27th at 630pm. Busy. Had never eaten at the many in Ohio, Kentucky, etc. Now expanding – acquired by Ruth Chris. Perhaps that’s the problem. Didn’t miss much. Not going back. Seafood may be fresh, but the timing (we were 4 plus one child), is bad in the kitchen, so one dish was hot, the other 4 cold. Had to send the mashed potatoes back 4 times (yes 4 – that has never happend. It was ridiculous) to get them hot, and still, not so hot. We gave up. Another at her table asked for lemon with water when we ordered. Lime came. Asked again – 3 times. Got limes twice. Asked for marinara sauce for the 7 year old’s calamari. They serve with soy, and its their preferred “house” sauce on fish (not the mark of a great fish place – douse with soy and salt). He is very allergic, but eating calamari is pretty cool for a 7 year old. But it came with soy, they spilled it as they served it. Wanted us to keep the now doused calamari and plate – and just take soy saucer back. We asked for new dish. It came. Marinara came 5 minutes after the 2nd effort at calamari – and that had to be requested. Most side dishes cold. While fresh, the cooking is mediocre, the side dishes weak (and cold) and the prices are NOT cheap for cafeteria fare. $ 7 soup, $ 10-12 appetizers, and for what they charge for entrees, they should be better than Morrison’s cafeteria or a diner and not cold. While very polite, the supervisor and two “head watiers” or maitre d’ did little to get things right. You’d ask for something (again and again) even though ordered correctly the first time after they give you the “Mitchell’s” speech about how they will serve it the way you want it, and none of our requests were handled. They stand there politely asnwering but don’t get it done. No attempt to even adjust for the mistakes with the bill. Even in Stamford, one can do way better.

Have eaten here many times over the last six months as I’ve been at a client site in Stanford.
Only had one or two bad meals, most are outstanding. I eat alone so don’t have the multi-party experience of Mark. But the swordfish is just outstanding and I pass on the potatoes anyway and just get the double vegtables, which are also outstanding. But the best part is their side salad and custy roll/bread. It’s one of the best in Stanford!
