Still, the food is terrific, authentic (slightly upscale and Northern Italy), fresh and well-prepared, and though not extensive, they have a smartly complimentary wine list with just the right selection for every dish. This is a excellent first date restaurant: romantic and classic northern Italy atmosphere. I thought the waitstaff was a bit distant and impersonal -- possibly because they didn't speak much English - nor Italian for that matter! (PS - Please visit my Blog)

If you’re looking for an authentic family-style Italian restaurant, Mona Lisa is a pretty nice place to go, though the waitstaff are NOT always “authentic” if you know what I mean. My favorite dish is the gnocci, they're baked so they have a marshmallow-like consistency!

One of the better Italian restaurants in Stamford.
